“He always made room for one more at the table.”
Thomas kept a little notebook in his coat pocket. It held the names of plants he wanted to grow, things to mend before winter, and the beginnings of stories he would tell over Sunday lunch. There was always another page to fill.
At home, the kettle was rarely cold. He loved a long walk, a familiar song on the radio, and any excuse to bring everyone together. We remember him in the garden, sleeves rolled up, pointing out the first new shoots as though they were a small miracle.
