Getting started

Set up your funeral home on Memoriam

Eight short steps take a director from a new organization to a published tribute and a service-ready video. Most teams finish the setup in about twenty minutes. There is nothing to install.

Step 1. Create your organization

Enter your funeral home's name and choose the address for your subdomain. The preview shows exactly what families will see, for example smiths-funeral-home.memoriam.app.

Whoever creates the organization becomes its first admin and can hand off any of the steps below.

Where to find it: Portal → Create Organization

Step 2. Add your branding

Upload your logo and set a primary and secondary colour. They appear on every tribute page under your subdomain, so families see your funeral home first.

On Professional you can also turn on Hide Memoriam branding, which removes the Memoriam line from the footer of your public pages.

Where to find it: Portal → your organization → Branding

Step 3. Invite your team

Send email invitations to colleagues. They accept from their own Memoriam account under Dashboard → Invitations and land in the same portal.

Admins manage branding, the team and billing. Members create and edit memorials. Everyone on the team can work on any memorial that belongs to the organization.

Where to find it: Portal → your organization → Team

Step 4. Create a memorial for a family

Choose New Memorial, then add the person's name, dates and a short story. You can upload photographs and video clips straight away or leave that to the family.

Every memorial starts as a private draft. Only your team, and anyone you send a link to, can see it.

Where to find it: Dashboard → New Memorial

Step 5. Send the family a private link

In the memorial editor, open Family access and enter a family member's email address. Choose View only or View and add photos, then copy the private link into your own email or message. Viewing needs no account; adding photos asks them to sign in with the invited email.

From that link the family can choose Approve for publication. Their approval appears beside Publish in your editor and never publishes on its own. Revoke a link at any time from the same panel.

Turn on Family upload emails in your organization settings to receive a digest when a family adds photographs, so nothing arrives unnoticed.

Where to find it: Memorial editor → Family access

Step 6. Publish and share

When the family is happy with the draft, choose Publish. Publishing is included in Professional, with no per-memorial charge.

Under Services and donations, add the visitation, funeral and burial times and places. Each service gets directions and an add-to-calendar file, plus a livestream link if you have one, and you can add an “in lieu of flowers” note and link. They appear on the tribute page once it is published.

The tribute becomes public at its share link on your subdomain. Use Share to copy that link for the family, the service programme or your own website. Choose QR card to print a card for the programme; scanning it opens the page. Published pages are not listed in search engines by default; they are found through the link you share.

Where to find it: Memorial editor → Services and donations, Publish, then Share

Step 7. Build the slideshow and export the video

Open Slideshow from the memorial. Arrange the photographs and clips, adjust captions and timing, and choose the shape that fits the room: 16:9 for a screen, 9:16 for a phone, 4:3 for older projectors.

Export when it feels right. Rendering takes a few minutes; you receive an email when the video is ready and can download it from Dashboard → Videos. Professional exports carry no watermark.

Where to find it: Memorial editor → Slideshow → Export

Step 8. Billing and your account

Professional is $49/month, billed to the admin who upgraded. Manage Billing opens the Stripe billing portal, where you can change the payment method, download invoices or cancel.

If the subscription ends, published tribute pages stay online and Memoriam's default branding returns until the subscription is active again.

Where to find it: Portal → your organization → Billing → Manage Billing
